Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Tools
When a visitor enters a name, location, or other query into a third-party search box, the query is sent to the outside provider that operates the tool. Jackson County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s policies govern its receipt and use of the query.
Messages Sent to Us
If a visitor sends an email or contact-form message, we retain the message and reply details as needed to answer. We do not share those communications outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Automatic Technical Information
Routine server, analytics, and browser technologies may record technical information when a page loads. That information can include:
- The internet protocol address used for the visit
- Browser type and version
- Device category and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when supplied
- Date and time stamps associated with requests
Cookies
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site and may support advertising or site functions. A browser can reject or remove cookies through its settings. Blocking them may cause some features to work differently or not at all.
How Information Is Used
Collected information supports ordinary operation and improvement of the site. Uses may include:
- Keeping pages available, stable, and responsive
- Sending a search request to the selected partner service
- Understanding which resources visitors use
- Finding errors, misuse, and other technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
Websites Beyond Our Control
Links may lead to sheriff and corrections pages, release-record portals, court and other government systems, or third-party search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination’s own privacy notice and practices apply. We do not control how another website collects, keeps, or shares information.
Advertising partners may use technology on their own systems to follow activity across websites and select interest-based advertising. That processing takes place under the partner’s policies, not this notice alone.
When Information May Be Shared
We do not sell personal information. Data may be provided or made available only as needed to the following types of recipients:
- Search partners that process a visitor’s submitted query
- Analytics providers that measure site use
- Advertising networks that deliver or assess ads
- Law-enforcement agencies or other government bodies acting under a valid legal order
Reasonable Security Measures
We use standard administrative and technical practices intended to protect information. No website, network, transmission, or storage method is completely secure. We therefore cannot promise that data will never be intercepted, lost, accessed without permission, or exposed in a breach.
Visitors Younger Than Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted personal data, they may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.
Privacy Choices and Requests
Subject to applicable law and any need to verify the requester, a person may:
- Ask for a copy of personal information we hold about them
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Ask that eligible information be erased
- Object to or opt out of certain processing where that choice applies
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this Privacy Notice as practices, services, or legal duties change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date, and continued use after posting will be governed by the revised notice.
